  1. Mr. French was landlord of Ballycraheen. I do not know how long the family had been settled in the district. They were looked upon as bad landlords because the farmers had to pay very high rent to them. If the landlord had any grievance against the farmer he told him to walk out and let the farm there.
    Evictions have been carried out in the district and most of those concerned went to the neighbours.
    The landlord's agent was Mr. Michael Kelly, of Macroom. Tithe rent was collected in the district for the Protestant Minister.
