- Long ago nearly every farmer kept sheep. The farmer's wife shore the wool off the sheep in the Summer. She washed the wool then, and dried it, and sent it to the carding mill to be carded.
After it was carded, she brought it home, and spun it into thread with a spinning wheel, which she kept in her home.
Then the thread was sent to a weaver named Scanlan of Hollyhill, and he wove the thread into cloth. It is about fifty years since that work was carried on.o- Bailitheoir
