There were people going around in those days who were said to have charms. There is a story told about a man living west in Rhea. One day he was cutting grass with a scythe, and the scythe slipped, in some way, and put deep cut in his leg above the knee. He staggered home and was put to bed. After a few days he was getting worse. The relations of the sick man thought of a charm worker but they did not like to send for her at first.
At length they sent for her. She was an old woman who was said to have a charm for such things. The old woman came and went into the sick man's room, and when she came out he was cured.- Bailitheoir
