- In olden times people were far more healthier than what they are nowadays. They used to eat three meals a day, the breakfast, dinner and the supper. They used to work in the morning before their breakfast.For breakfast they had potatoes and sour milk. For dinner they had yellow-meal stirabout and new milk and in the evening potatoes. They used to sit around the table when eating which was hung up against the wall when not in use. This table had only one leg.Home made wheaten bread and yellow-meal cakes were mostly eaten. Meat or fish was seldom used. Salt meat they used to have when used. People did not eat late at night before going to bed.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
