- There was a man once who never went to Mass and when Mass used to be going on he would go to the public house and spend all his money on drink. He used to be saying "High Mass, high money. Low Mass, low money. No Mass, no money" and when he died himself he had no money and he got no Mass said. There was an old church and when it fell the people used to throw a stone each into it when passing to Mass every Sunday and now it is filled with stones. There were people who went to Mass except when they would have something at the fair and when the rest of the people would see them they would know that they would have something to sell.
