- Long ago lived a man in this district and his name was Patsy Scott. He was a Carmelite. When he was young he used to go to religious meetings to Athlone. He lived a very holy life. He fasted every Wednesday from meat. He hardly ever missed Mass. He used to be out in the fields praying.
There was a story told about a man who used to steal sheep. He was very poor and through hunger he stole sheep and killed and ate them. After a while he died and came to life again. After he came back he told the people that he was sent back to do penance, and he also told them the hour the hour he would die.
