  1. There is a story told about Kilglass how there was a house out there. It was called the dark house. St Barry is said to lie interred in the door-way, half in and half out. The clay in the door - way is taken up and used as the cure of a toothache, headache and several other maladies. Within the house is a litter of straw like a pig-stye in which if insane people would sleep with a pious intention for three nights Thursday, Friday and Saturday and hear Mass on Sunday they would get the gift of reason before a week.
    There is a stump in the ground of a tower between 4 feet and 11 feet in diameter. It is not far from Kilglass chapel. The stump is in the ground yet. It was levelled many years ago for materials for building a wall which now encloses the church-yard.
