    in some shady lane out the country. They are usually called tinkers.
    In this district were to be found O'Briens, Doyles, Hutchinsons, O'Donohues mostly from Co. Tipperary.
    There were of a rough disposition and seldom moved on Sundays.
    Few of them practised any form of religion. There was also kind of a traveller who called to a farmers house and got a stay for a few days. After travelling perhaps a month in this way it would often take a week to relate all this news. Because they had the business of every district got to know every thing about marriages, births and deaths. But the people are too quick for them now.
