- (continued from previous page)favourite song was "The Bard of Armagh". She was fond of "Jennie My own true love" and "Were you True to Ireland". She is dead many years ago. Many people gathered into her house in the evenings and she sang for them and taught them songs.
Mrs. Heckinberry was from Coolnelian Co. Carlow was a noted singer. She sang in a concert hall in Borris and won a prize of five shillings. Her favourite songs were "I'll tie up your hair with bonny brown ribbons" "Ireland you yet stand true". She sang "The Boys of Wexford", "The wild Geese", "Kathleen Mavourneen", in Dublin also.
