- A feat of strength (13-1-38)
I have heard many stories of strong men in this district long ago. I have heard about men lifting big stones. One man brought his plough to the forge. One day after he went to the forge to bring the plough home. On his way home his horse fell on the road and broke two shafts of the cart. He lived in Oldtown and his name was Michael Kelly. He had a mile to go from where the horse fell. He put the plough on his back because there was no place near to get the loan of a cart. The weight of the plough was 11 hundred-weight. He carried home the plough and was not a bit tired when he went home. From that on he was noted as a very strong man in that district.- Bailitheoir
