possession now. There were many big trees and bushes in the field, and they got good shelter there, and it is said that they used to celebrate Mass under a big tree every morning.
They were there for about three weeks; and they got milk from a woman who lived where our house is now; this woman's name was Miss Robinson. When the soldiers knew that those nine monks escaped, they offered five pounds to the person that would find the monks for them. This woman hearing the news, told the soldiers to follow the stream of milk from her door the following morning, so when she was bringing the milk the next morning, she punched a hole in the can, and let the milk flow out gradually. When she reached the monks, she pretended to them, that she put the milk in the wrong can, but that she would return with more. She did this, so that no one would blame her, and she pretended she was true to them to the last.
While the monks were waiting for her to return with the milk the soldiers followed the stream of milk, and they surrounded the monks, and killed them all. It is said they were buried in a ring around the field, and the field is called "The Ring Field" from that onwards.
