In the olden times, cattle and crops used to be given, as a fortune. A few nights before the wedding the man used too come to the girl's house, and they used to settle the match, and appoint a day for the wedding.
In olden times it was in the houses the marriages used to be, instead of the church. The priest used to come to the wedding, the people used to gather up between them, the money that was to be given to the priest. After the wedding they used to have a big breakfast.
Long ago, a great deal of preparations used to be made for weddings. The night before the wedding the women used to cook bug pots of meat and fish. The day of the wedding, the bride used to wear "something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue".
