    The people long ago used to grow flax for the use of linen making. When the flax was ripe they used to put it into a bog hole until all the outside of it would root away and leave nothing but threads. Then they used to pound the threads with a thick stick and then spin it with a flax wheel. Then they used to carry it to the weaver to make linen. They used to make sheets of this and shirts for the men but these were terribly coarse They used also make table cloths of it
