The Field of the Seana Cúirt
This field is owned by Tim Mac Mahon. It gets its name from an underground cave which is in the field. This cave is about a hundred yards long and forty yards wide. It is situated on the top of a hill and a clear day you can see for miles around. Surrounding the cave there are whitethorn bushes and it seems as if there was a stone wall there at some time. It is said that the monks of the district were hiding in that cave and that they used hold a court there once a year. This cave is in the townland of Roxborough.
2) Just about thirty yards from Molahiffe Castle there is a fort. It is circular in shape. The walls surrounding it are knocked but some trees remain still. There is a hole in the side of it. Once, when a man by the name of Curtin owned Castlefarm on of his pigs strayed down this hole and was not got for s few days. The cave is leading of down in the direction Roxborough and passes a spring fountain. The pig came up in this fountain but died soon after. About forty years ago a man with a red jacket used to be seen at the entrance about twelve o'clock.
