- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)situated about a quarter mile from the village of Lisdowney and is by the roadside. It is a low building and is roofed with boards and felt. There is a block built with stones in the centre and this is called the hob. The bellows is set up in a frame behind the hob and is made of leather. The smith uses several implements in his work but the principal ones are :-. the sledge, the anvil, the hammer and the thongs. He shoes horses, asses and mules. The only work which is done in the open air is binding wheels. The forge water is said to be a cure for chillbains.
- At present there are no tailors in this district. About forty years ago there was one whose name was Mr. Sutton. He worked at his home but he did not stock the material. Once while he was making a suit of clothes for a police man - he disappointed him so often that the police man asked him "Did a tailor ever go to heaven."? The tailor said "There did one and they called for a police man to put him out and they could not find one."
