- The wake customs of to day are greatly altered to those of years gone by. The usual customs now are.-the people come all day and night and snuff is distributed at the wake. The old custom of distributing pipes and tobacco is now dying out.
- The usual funeral customs in this district are:-the corpse is taken to the cemetery in what is called a hearse. Before the funeral, men are paid to make the grave into which the coffin is put. Then the grave is filled in and a green sod covers it.
