- The Irish name of Archerstown which is in the parish of Lisdowney, Co. Kilkenny is Baile á Airsearaigh. There was a church here dedicated to St. Canice. The field in which it stood is called Kilkinnybeg which means St. Kenny's litte church but not one sotne of this church remains. On the point of Archerstown hill is a small sheet of water called Lugh Dhrinnia (Loc Droine) the lake of the hump. In Seskin there is a pit which has the curious name of Powl Scaddhawn or the herring hole. Seskin hill is called Knuck-na-thulla which is the hill of the green rise from a very green patch which is on the summit of the hill.
