- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)The present Catholic Church - "St. Mary's Star of the Sea" was completed in 1857 on a site given by Lord Listowel. Dennys objected to the proximity of the Catholic Church to their Mansion and so planted a grove of Trees between the Church and their House. Tradition says that a priest said that these trees would never obscure the view of the Catholic Church & and the trees still remain stunted & dwarfed.
