1. History of Churchill Protestant Church and the Denny Family who Founded it (ar lean)

   East of the Church is a large stone tomb in which were interred the Rays, the Days, and the Collisses - not one of whose names is now living in the parish.
   Churchill House was locked up after the death of Parson Denny who was survived by his wife 2 years. The key was kept by Colonel Rowan of Oyster Hall.
   Shortly after the house was let for 6 months to the Christian Brothers as a health Resort. It was again closed and sold and was purchased by the Neligan family.
   Major Neligan & his mother resided there and Judge Neligan of the Cork Circuit used visit there on his holidays as he was brother to Major Neligan.
   Major Neligan willed the House to the Dominicans of Tralee and they resided there until 1914 when they sold the House and lands to Carol OSullivan the present owner.
   The grounds on which the Protestant Church is built are a graveyard where Protestants & Catholics were buried. A new portion has been added on owing to congestion of the old one. No old dates appear on the old Catholic Tombs - being all grassy mounds or stone & mortar constructions.
