This is situated between the Harbour Board Reservoir and the Taulaught Strand. The fort is round and can be scarcely discerned now and close to it is the ancient burial ground where human bones have often been found. This grave-yard is for long years disused - none of the present generation remembers it being used. Possibly this old burial place gave its name "Táimhleacht" or Taulaght to the locality - meaning a burial place for those who died of plague. This place and surrounding fields contains a
