    When they use the catapult for killing birds they put a stone in the leather and pull the stick, letting the piece of leather loose with the stone. You could kill birds from a great distance with the Catapult and that is why boys find great amusement in using it.
    The Sling is made with a piece of leather and two good strong pieces of cord. The cords are tied through two holes on each end of the leather. When boys are using the Sling they put a stone in the leather and hold the cords. They give the cords a swing thus letting the stone fly. This is a dangerous toy because when you swing the sling the stone sometimes gets loose and flys backwards and the boy who swings it gets hit himself. The Sling is hardly ever used now.
