The people died in great numbers and great sickness followed the hunger called Famine fever, and they died not only in their houses but in the fields, on the roads and in the streets of the cities. Often the people were seen dead in the road-side and the signs of grass in their mouths.
So thickly did the people die of the famine and the famine fever that sometimes they were(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
