On the following morning when the farmer was churning he could get nothing but froth in the barrell, and this state of affairs lasted well over a month. Though the old woman had only one cow, she was seen at the butter market in Causeway every Tuesday of the week selling large quantities of butter which the neighbours stataed was equivalent to the produce of ten or twelve cows.
The rumour got abroad concerning her witchcraft and two or three farmers decided on watching her. One night they stole quietly to the house and peeping in through the window they saw a large rope hanging by one end from a rafter of her(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
