  2. Old Crafts - Rush Candles

    Roinn Roinn Postáil
    Rush candles were in common use about seventy years ago. These candles were made in every house. Green rushes were about the best for making them.
    The process by which rush candles were made was very simple. Thick rushes were got and (peeled) the skin peeled off leaving a narrow strip fo skin the whole length of the rush.
