  1. In olden days there were many old customs connected with marriages, and some of them are still kept up to the present day.
Some of the old customs are, on the first Sunday after getting married, the bride does not go to mass as it is supposed to be unlucky. On the wedding day old shoes and boots are tied on to the motor-car or onto whatever vehicle is conveying them to the church, this is supposed to bring the bride and bridegroom great luck. After the wedding a great feast is prepared in the brides house, to which all the friends and neighbours are invited. Then there is a great feasting and rejoicing,
There are certain days which are supposed to be unlucky for getting married, while others are supposed to be lucky. This is a little rhyme which shows the lucky and unlucky days.
