   They left him below at the bog-road but when they came in home again he was there sitting in the hob before them. They went to bed and left the little child sitting in the hob and when they got up in the morning he was gone. They had no luck from that on. All their cattle and every-thing they had died.

   Once upon a time a man named John Kelly was going home from a visit at about three o'clock at night. On his way home he met a woman coming towards him on the road. She said to him will you come in to the dance John? He went in with her. She brought him in to a big house where there were people dancing and singing. The woman brought him out dancing on a few occasions. Then she brought him in to a very large room, where there were big long tables, and on these tables were every sort of food. The woman asked him to eat some of the food. In the very same big room there was another girl combing her hair, and she signed at John telling him not to eat the food. So he did not. So the cock crew and all disappeared.
