  1. Loughatorick school was built in the year 1868 and it is 73 years built.
It is a good school all the time it was half bad enough untill they repaired it in 1930. Before it was built they had an old school at the back of Mac Brides and another at the back of Pat Noonans.
The one at the back of Mac Brides was for the Toorleightra scholars.
And the one at the back of Pat Noonans was for the Loughatorickes schoolars.
The one at the back of Mac Brides where it was build is called the rock and the one at the back of Pat Noonans is called Garveys old Walls.
At that time they had no copies only pencil and slate.
They had no seats only stones to sit upon.
Each one of them used to have to bring two sods of turf under each arm to make a fire for the day. Jonney Hallorn and Jim Loughery were taught at the back of Mac Brides and good scholars they are.
The government had nothing to do with the teachers
