    in either a barn or cow-house belonging to the parents of the children and the teacher was kept in the house for a week and then removed to the next house for another week and the children had to bring two or three sods of turf every day for to make a fire.
    They used to make a big fire of turf in the middle of the barn.
    The seats they used to have were stones left here and there and the children used to sit on them.
    They used to have a slate to do their sums on it.
