Ar an leathanach seo

  1. About the beginning of the present century there lived in Loughfad a man named Thomas Moore. He was one day working in a field called the Cill, on the bank of a lake, and he was rolling large stones from the field into the lake. The field, as its name indicates, was the site of an old graveyard, and neighbours gazed with holy dread and horror at what they considered the desecration of this hallowed, if not indeed haunted, spot.
    However, the work was not destined to continue, for no sooner did the first stone touch the waters of the lake than a voice rang out: "Stop! Leave these stones, and go thy way!" At that moment there appeared before him the figure of a woman withered, old and wan. The figure stood gazing upon him in silence, until the man had slowly but surely taken his departure. The apparition then vanished.
    It is said that every one who interfered with these stones since saw a similar
