- A poem composed, in memory of the lifeboat disaster, of December 24th 1895 in which sixteen lives were lost:-
(I) God save us from such a Christmas Eve,
I hear the cries of those families,
The beat of the billows that are to-day,
And the swerve of the white waves,
That go seeking their prey.
(II)A strange ship drifted our harbour-gate,
Like a wild bird wounded and desolate,
Then into the jaws of the hungry waves,
Our brave men went for to die or save,(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
