- About 150 years ago there lived in Colligan a rich farmer named Hannigan who had a daughter named Mary. Mary was a handsome girl but also a very very wicked one. Mary used to go to dances and remain out all night. One night at a dance her petticoat became loose and she said "my petticoat is loose and I can not dance for a while". Ever after she was called Petticoat Loose. She committed several wicked deeds during her life and died in drunkenness. For years she haunted the districts of Cappoquin and her own place and did a lot of harm in both places. One evening a man named Michael Connors from Coolagortwee in the district of Cappoquin was coming from the fair of Clogheen on a colt. At the Salmon Leap he sighted Petticoat Loose a short distance away from him. Mick jumped off(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
