    When the potatoes were boiled they put them in bags and left them at the end of the house. Then they boiled great pieces of bacon and fixed old boxes and tables in the middle of the floor. They had all ready when the people arrived from the church and then they all sat down to eat a good meal. Two men would catch hold of the bag of potatoes and empty it out on the table and three or four more would get basins of bacon and go around with them and leave a piece on every plate with his hand.
