- There was once a man and he was Jamsey Hogan was his name, a seventh son. When he was born his father put a worm in his hand and then he had a lot of charms, but if the worm wasn't put into his hand it would be no use and he would be the same a any man. When this boy was about seven years of age the charms began to work. One day his mother was setting a hen and when she was putting the eggs under the hen he asked her to let him have a look at them.
