    There was a big hedge school in Mr. Huthinson's field on the Callan road.
    A man named Matthew Kavanagh taught in that school.
    This man lived in Kells.
    He taught Irish and thought a great lot about it.
    The pupils sat on stones with a pencil and paper.
    Very few English books were used, they were mostly all Irish.
