  1. The following is a list of local place names.
    There is a field over in Garnastan on our farm called the "Affultry". It is situated about a mile from Kells and is in front of Mahony's house.
    There is also a field at the back of our house called "Faugha".
    The old people say that a giant was killed there in olden times.
    The "Lucan" is situated by the green banks of the King's River between Kells and Newtown.
