  1. As I was sitting by the fireside last night I asked my Grandfather to tell me some stories about the penal times.
    Long ago the people of Ireland were compelled by the English soldiers to stay away from mass and from their education. The priests used to say mass in cover of hedges or rocks which are still to be seen.
