  1. There are many wells throughout this country but many are kept for the honour of a certain patron Saint
    There is a holy well in the townsland of Dunnamaggin in a field owned by Mr Walsh. This holy well is kept in honour of St Leonard patron of the parish.
    Long ago the water of this well was used by the people in that vicinity. When the water was put in a kettle to boil, it did not boil. Henceforth it was never used.
    There is another holy well kept in honour of Our Lady in Lady'swell. This place is in the parish of Danesfort.
