James Sullivan Rathculbin thatches most of the houses around this locality. Scallops and straw are prepared and the straw is made into nice bundles. He fastens the straw on with the scallops very tightly.
There was a man named Matthew Phelan of Goodwinsgarden once living whose house is now occupied by Mr Brownrigg.
