  1. About fifty years ago, Peddlars were very numerous in this district.
    They used to go around from house to house gathering rags, and they used have cards of pins and needles which they used give in return for the rags.
    The Peddlars made good profit on those rags they sent them away to the factoryes to be manufactured into paper.
