    Fairs
Long ago both men and women went to the fairs. They took pigs to fairs, as well as cattle for there were no stores or factories then. They always had a fight at the finishing of the fair. They made the bargain by one man holding out his hand and the other man striking him with his hand. They marked the cattle with mud or chalk. The chief fairs in this place are Tulla [?] and Scariff.
