  1. People had only two meals per day long ago; now they have four. They got up at six o'clock and had their breakfast at half past ten. They had nothing for their breakfast but potatoes, sour milk, and salt. From six to half-ten they worked before their breakfast to get an appetite.
    Then at six in the evening, when they came home they had porridge for the supper. They peeled the potatoes with their hands for they had no knives or forks. There was no white bread used then, it was all wheaten bread
