  1. There is an old castle situated about two miles from the village Sixmilebridge named Rossmanagher Castle. It is a Norman castle. It is in ruins for the last hundred years.
There is a story told about it. One night a man was going to the fair of Limerick with cattle and as he was near the castle, he looked and saw a woman dressed in white sitting on one of the windows combing her hair. He was frightened and ran back the road. He met a neighbour and he told him his story. His neighbour only laughed at him and said that he often passed it in the dead of night and saw nothing. The two men went back again and passed the castle and saw nothing. The woman had disappeared under the water which runs under the castle.
