    My old nurse, Mrs Mary Walshe, used to say her prayers in Irish. When going to bed she used to take up her scapular and say the following:-
    Pé díon a fuair mise ó Mháthair Criost ní fiu me é fhághail, anois tá mé ag dul fé'd dhíon agus fe'd bhrat, slanuigheam me fhéin leat in Ainm an Athair agus an Mhic agus an Sproid Naoimh - Amen.

    When the lamp was lighted she used to say:-
    "Solus na bhFlaitheis go dtugaidh an Tighearna dár n-anamnacha an Lá Deidheannach".

    When the potaoes were dug she said:-
    Beirimid beó ar an am seo aris
