    The curlew flying towards the west and it whistling is a sign of rain.
    When the crow flies very low rain is approaching.
    The dog eating grass and the cat sitting on the hearthstones with her back to the fire and her rubbing her face are signs of rain.
    If the sheep are seen eating grass very early in the morning and lying at the back of a ditch during the day is a sure sign of rain.
    Before rain goats leave the field and come home to the house in search of shelter.
    The little flies which are called gnats fly very low and bite before rain.
