  1. Marriage usually take place before Lent and Advent, especially before Lent. A pair who were expected to get married would be asked"Are you going to let the times in on you this year" that is - to let Shrove Tuesday pass without getting married. May is considered an unlucky month in which to get married. "Married in May, you'll rue the day". Wednesday is said to be the luckiest day, and most marriages take place on Wednesday.     Tuesday for wealth
    Wednesday the best day of all
    Thursday for losses
    Friday for crosses.
    And Saturday there's no luck atall."
    Saturday is considered a very unlucky day for a marriage.
