    its healing powers.
The lake has now disappeared though the hollow where it once was is plain to be seen. This is the story locally told of its disappearance. The dogs belonging to the Pratt family, Cabra Kingscourt developed mange or some other skin disease. These dogs were taken to the healing lake on Loughanlea and washed in its waters. Soon afterwards the lake disappeared.
