  1. People never get married in the season of Lend. When the bride comes home after being married the tongs are generally given to here to show she will be the mistress of the house.
The newly married people get a lot of presents given to them to help to set up a house. The brides cake is given as a present. Sometimes the bride sends a piece of cake to friends or other people that could not attend the wedding, to dream on.
It is the bride that cuts the cake. it is in the evening it is eaten. The wedding cake is beautifully decorated with ribbons and other things. Straw boys come to the house at night. They do be dressed in straw so that they people would not know them. Sometimes they give a lot of trouble and the guards are sent for to put them away.
Long ago some of the people especially the upper classes got married in their own homes. It is not common now.
