  1. Before the closing of the day,
Creator to thee we humbly pray,
That for the wanted mercy sake,
We to thee thy protection take,
That nothing in our minds excite,
Vain dreams and phantoms of the night,
    Our enemies repress and show,
    Our bodies no uncleanliness know,
In this most gracious Father hear,
Through Christ the son our prayers,
Who with the Holy Ghost and Thee,
    Doth reign eternally,
    Visit this habitation we beseech,
And drive away all the snares of our enemies
    Amen
