Title of story: The Landlord an' Barney Boylan. (Written in the exact words used by Mr. Brady when he recounted the story.)
Me father (God ha' mercy on his soul) used to tell this story about an ould chap that lived in Drumallard in his young days. Deed, I don't remember him but me father (God ha' mercy on him) used to talk a lot about him. Aw! he wuz a very cliver soart iv a fella an' cud make up songs an' bits o' porty an' things lek that. He wuz Barney Boylan an' he had a wee bit o' land in Drumallard.(continues on next page)
