  1. Children go to school, in the country at least, in their bare feet but those are becoming rarer year by year. Long ago the old men and women never wore boots except on Sundays, and, sometimes, not even then.
    Our present-day footwear is practically all factory-turned-out and they are not nearly so well put together as the ones which the shoemakers used to make long ago. There are many faults on the boots, which are manufactured : they do not wear so
